Setting Up Your Meta Ads Manager
Forget the boost button. If you are serious about Facebook advertising in Pakistan, you need Meta Ads Manager. The boost button gives you almost no control over targeting, budget, or objectives.
Getting started requires a Facebook Business Page and a Meta Ads Manager account (both free). Navigate to business.facebook.com and add a payment method — Pakistani businesses can pay via credit card, debit card, or JazzCash/easypaisa.
Before creating your first campaign, install the Meta Pixel on your website. This small code tracks what visitors do. Without it, you cannot measure conversions, optimize for purchases, or build retargeting audiences. Use Google Tag Manager for a no-code setup. The ITSoft-Tech Meta Ads team has helped hundreds of Pakistani businesses set up their advertising infrastructure correctly.
Understanding Audience Targeting
Interest-based targeting reaches people who have shown interest in topics related to your business. Start relatively broad and let Meta's algorithm optimize — overly narrow audiences limit the algorithm.
Custom audiences are people who have already interacted with your business: website visitors, page engagers, customer lists. Targeting warm audiences almost always produces better results than targeting strangers.
Lookalike audiences take your best customers and find similar new people. If your Pixel has tracked 500+ conversions, create a lookalike for the next 1% most similar people in Pakistan. ITST recommends starting with interest-based targeting while building conversion data.
Budget Strategy for Small Businesses
You can start testing with as little as PKR 500-1,000 per day. Use the daily budget setting. Allocate using the 70-20-10 framework: 70% proven campaigns, 20% testing, 10% experimental.
Never turn a campaign off after 2-3 days. Meta's learning phase requires approximately 50 conversions per week per ad set. Give campaigns a minimum of 7 days and PKR 15,000-20,000 in spend before major changes.
Ad Creative That Stops the Scroll
Vertical video (9:16) consistently outperforms static images. Shoot with your phone — authentic content works better than polished corporate ads. Lead with the problem you solve in your copy.
Use the AIDA formula: Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. Include a clear CTA button. Test at least 3-4 creative variations. ITSoft-Tech typically tests 8-10 variations because the difference between best and worst is often 3-5x.
Reading Your Ad Results
Focus on five metrics: CTR (1-3% healthy in Pakistan), CPC (PKR 5-30 average), and ROAS (2-3x minimum for sustainability). Below 0.8% CTR signals a creative problem. Track ROAS over 7-14 day windows.
When to Scale and When to Stop
Scale by 20-30% every 3-5 days for campaigns hitting target ROAS. Kill campaigns after 7 days if metrics are poor, but diagnose first. The decision framework: scale what works, pause what does not, test what is new. Working with an experienced Meta Ads specialist shortens the learning curve dramatically.
